The 11th World Summit: Civil Engineering-Architecture-Urban Planning Congress – CAUSummit took place in Sofia, Bulgaria, from August 31 to September 4, 2026. at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG) building. The conference’s thematic scope ranges from structural design, building materials, geotechnics, transport infrastructure, building physics and simulation, architectural design and heritage conservation, through to landscape and urban planning, and extends to sustainable urban development, environmental sciences, geodesy, remote sensing, and geo-informatics.
One of the distinctive features of the conference is therefore the interdisciplinary nature of the scientific fields involved. The organisers aim to bring together research that can contribute to the creation of safer and more sustainable urban environments. Participants may present their research in the form of a lecture or a poster; an abstract may be submitted on its own, whilst submission of the full paper is optional for those wishing to have their work published in the conference proceedings
Balázs Váradi, a lecturer at our Faculty and a PhD candidate at the Doctoral School of Architecture, Design and Technology, delivered a presentation about the research at the School, the chief architect system in Hungary, and the Scientific Students' Association of Built Rural Heritage (NTDK), which celebrates its 50th year this year.
