Ybl Miklós Faculty took part in an international workshop in Târgu Mureș
international program

The Emil Palada Faculty at Ion Mincu University in Târgu Mureș, which is responsible for the English-language architecture programme, hosted the BIP (Blended Intensive Programme) workshop this summer, in which the first-year students of Ybl Miklós Faculty took part under the guidance of Prof. Dr Gábor Csanády.

The design brief involved the conversion of a former film and photographic paper factory building for community use, with students working on their projects in mixed teams. Five Polish students travelled from Nowy Targ, seven Slovak students from Bratislava, whilst the programme also included five Romanian, two Portuguese and one Spanish participant. Each participating university also sent a lecturer. The collaborative, in-person work was preceded by an online course lasting several weeks, so the students arrived in the town for the site visit already equipped with the necessary prior knowledge.

Amidst the various professional programmes and site visits, consultations on and the development of the students’ designs took place from Monday to Friday as part of a series of workshops. The design presentation took place on Friday afternoon with the participation of local architects. Every team presented a remarkable and interesting design, in which our first-year students also performed admirably. This international collaboration provided an excellent opportunity for students from different years and with diverse academic backgrounds to learn from one another whilst working together.

Congratulations to the participants on their work, the faculty is proud that, once again, the students demonstrated their aptitude, openness, and preparedness on the international stage.
