This May, Dániel Badik-Szabó, assistant lecturer from Ybl Miklós Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering, had the opportunity to spend a week in Poland, namely in its southern part: Nowy Targ, a beautiful architectural treasure. The trip itself was a teaching mobility (architectural) at the ANS (Akademia Nauk Stosowanych w Nowym Targu) local college.
During the lecture, he met several different classes, with different levels of subjects. With the first-grade students, they took on family house sized projects with simple structures, while with the higher graders, they consulted on larger, community buildings. They went into details: structure, material, colour, usability, aesthetics. The lower-grade students were somewhat shy, but the older students communicated enthusiastically and presented their works. Sometimes, when it was needed, they changed from English to Polish technical terms, of which he had prepared beforehand.
It was exceptionally nice that he had been invited by the students and their lecturers to their semester exhibition in the municipal culture centre. He attended, and they had great talks, and he also met with a student whom he had taught in the previous year there.
They had a productive meeting with their Erasmus Coordinator, who was very helpful both before and during his trip. They discussed the range of courses offered by their universities and possible future cooperation.
