Within the field of civil engineering, the department deals with the full spectrum of infrastructure development, design, construction and operation. The two main sub-disciplines of our infrastructure engineering specialisation are transport infrastructure and water engineering infrastructure. Road construction, urban transport, urban water management (water supply, sewerage, water and wastewater treatment) are our main areas of specialisation. In addition, the department's teaching activities also include water engineering and management, related basic subjects in hydrology and hydraulics, energy utilities, and a civil engineering approach to environmental protection.
The teachers of the Department are recognised representatives of the civil engineering profession, with theoretical and practical experience. Emphasis is placed on providing engineering students with a practical approach from the theoretical foundations. As a result, our training is recognised in the profession, and students graduating from our specialisation can start their careers in civil engineering with good job prospects.
