Fruitful networking in Sweden

The Obuda University offers an excellent opportunity through the Pannonia program for instructors and staff to participate in international training programs and university visits. These experiences help our staff to get a sense of the atmosphere of education and university life abroad. Architectural designers from the Ybl Advisory Office (YTI), had the chance this year to take part in such a journey, visiting Sweden in early June.

They established contact with Jönköping University and the Science Park. Thanks to the collaboration of Géza Fischl, communication and coordination went smoothly and effectively throughout the process. At the university, they were welcomed and guided by Ibrahim Yitmen, while at the Science Park, Zara Malm received and showed them around. They shared their experiences related to student interests, the educational system, and teaching methods. Their hosts told them about student life, and during the tour of the buildings and campus, they saw firsthand how students use the spaces and facilities. The shared impression of the team was that the university buildings are open and accessible to everyone, with abundant student, community, and study spaces. From both an architectural and educational perspective, the experience had a strong impact on them.

During their trip, they also stopped in Copenhagen and visited the University Park there, which was also exemplary. They found it impressive both in terms of architecture and interior design. The educational spaces, the various types of student study areas, community spaces, and dormitory buildings all serve as professional examples. Although the exam period had started, the university was full of students studying in differently sized and arranged study rooms or putting the finishing touches on their assignments.

In the course of the trip and on the way home, they shared their experiences and engaged in professional discussions. They all believe that this journey provided them with valuable experiences and new perspectives for their future work.
